Please note that from 1 July 2017, the regulations on study grants for doctoral candidates cease to apply. This means that from this date no doctoral candidates may receive study grants. Instead, the primary rule in the Higher Education Ordinance that doctoral candidates must be employed will apply. Find more information here.
Doctoral candidates with study grants or scholarship are not employees so cannot take out holiday days in the sense stated in the Holidays Act. Even so, it is important to organise work in such a way that longer periods of rest and recovery are possible.
