Are you a doctoral candidate who wants to know more about your rights? Do you feel alone in your fight for a better working environment? Do you want to join SULF and/or Saco-S at local or national levels to influence change? Then you are invited to the Digital Contact Day of the SULF Doctoral Candidate Association!

The Contact Day is an annual event, open to everyone, meant to be an opportunity to learn more about SULF, the SULF Doctoral Candidate Association, and to meet other doctoral candidates from around Sweden, to share experiences and learn from each other.

The theme of this year is Beyond Covid, focusing on union’s democratic participation, student-employee dual status, union’s core functions, and relation with grass-roots movements. Register now, bring your friends, we hope to see you there.

09:45 – Zoom meeting start, and mingle
10:00 – Welcome and introduction
10:10 – Presentation of SULF Doctoral Candidate Association
10:30 – “Pros and cons of dual student-employee status – what rules apply when?” ​by Robert Andersson. This session will be recorded.
10:50 – Break
11.00 – Keynote: “What does union and union representation mean? Historical and personal perspectives” by Mats Ericson, chair of SULF’s executive board. This session will be recorded.
12:00 – Brown Bag Lunch (Zoom open for socializing)
13:00 – Workshop: “Exploring Union Work – your needs, preferences and problems”
14:00 – Break
14:15 – ​Panel discussion: Union and grass-root movement relations: lessons from the Aliens Act in 2014 and now ​by Moa Ekbom and Masoud Nouripayam
14:45 – Closing remarks
