Uppsala: Doctoral candidates' rights, responsibilities and representation

The Swedish Association for University Teachers and Researchers (SULF) at Uppsala University, joint with Doktorandnämnden and Saco-S as co-hosts, invite you to a hybrid seminar on your rights and responsibilities as a doctoral candidate (PhD student). The seminar will be held in English. We will discuss about our rights and responsibilities as PhD Student, how collective agreements work, how we as PhD students are represented in boards and committees, and how to cope with the migration rules in Sweden.

The seminar will include the following speakers:

  • Topias Tolonen is the current chair of the Doctoral Board of Uppsala University (Doktorandnämnden, DN) and he will introduce DN's advocacy work within the university. 
  • Robert Malmgren, will talk about employment and collective bargaining rights for doctoral students. Robert is the chair of SACO-S.
  • Robert Andersson will present a talk about immigration issues related to doctoral studies. Robert is the chief negotiator of SULF’s central office.
