Doctoral candidates' rights, responsibilities and representation

The Swedish Association for University Teachers and Researchers (SULF) and the Swedish National Union of Students (SFS)  invite you to a seminar on your rights and responsibilities as a doctoral candidate. We will discuss supervision, the individual study plan, prolongation, how collective agreements work, how we as PhD students are represented in boards and committees, residence permits, and how we can get help when things go wrong.

The seminar will include the following speakers:

  • Robert Andersson, chief negotiator and representative at SULF’s central office,  will talk about doctoral students’ work-environment and residence permit related issues.
  • Linnéa Carlsson, chair of the SFS’s doctoral student committee, will talk about SFS and doctoral students’ representation.
  • Liselott Dominicus van den Bussche, head safety representative (huvudsyddsombud) at Uppsala University, will introduce the role of safety representatives in the workplace.

The seminar is organized jointly by the Uppsala, Karlstad, Linköping and Högskolan Dalarna chapters of SULF, together with SFS. The presentations will be held in English. After the presentations, there will be time for your questions and discussions. We hope to see you there!
