Background and content of the seminar

The Swedish Agency for Work Environment Expertise has recently released  “Good work environment for LGBTQI-people - A research-based guide”. The authors  Andrea Eriksson (prof. KTH) and Sara Andersson (senior lecturer, University West) will during the seminar present the content of the guide but also lead reflection exercises from the guide.

The overall content of the guide:

  • Part 1. Advice on how different roles can work with the research-based guide (management, HR, unions, work teams)
  • Part 2. Key LGBTQI concepts
  • Part 3. Prevention of discrimination and exclusion 
  • Part 4. Developing an inclusive workplace
  • Part 5. Exercises and Checklists

Form of the seminar:

The seminar will be interactive including presentations of the content from authors and reflections from the participants on how the guide's content could be applied in their different contexts. Reflections in smaller groups based on a selection of exercises from the guide will be done within the seminar.

Speakers

Andrea Eriksson is a professor at the Division of Ergonomics at KTH. She mainly does research within the fields of leadership, and social and organizational work environment. She has a research interest in developing a health-promoting and inclusive workplace and has recently led projects on the work environment of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Sara Andersson is a Senior Lecturer at University West. Her research primarily focuses on the sociological and gendered dimensions of everyday life, with a particular emphasis on activities and practices related to young children. In addition to this, she has co-authored a report on the work environment of LGBTQ+ individuals and has further explored the experiences of transgender people in the Swedish workforce.
