SULF Uppsala warmly welcomes all interested participants to a webinar that will address the current situation of academic freedom in the United States under the Trump administration.

The webinar will include presentations by Dan Garisto, science journalist covering US research and policy for Nature, and Laila Abdallah, political analyst and author of the report From Washington to Wallenberg? – The Effects of Trump’s Research Policy on Swedish Collaborations, Strategies, and Academic Capacity.
Their perspectives will be followed by a panel discussion addressing the conditions, challenges, and prospects of academic freedom in the American context, as well as its implications for academia in Sweden and beyond.

Finally, we also have some souvenirs that we want to share with you: SULF rucksacks, bags and gloves. This year, we have a fun way to distribute the souvenirs, if you can bring a colleague or a friend who is not a SULF member yet to fika with us, you both will have a SULF souvenir!
