Webinar: Researchers in Sweden: Opportunities and Challenges

Welcome to this half-day career webinar hosted by Naturvetarna and SULF. Our experts will provide insights into employment rights, current migration regulations, and career opportunities beyond academia. PhD students and researchers from all backgrounds are welcome.

Understanding the Swedish labour market and your rights as a researcher can be challenging, especially while navigating changing migration regulations, building a professional network, and planning your next career step.

During this webinar, our experts will share practical knowledge and answer your questions.

  • Robert Andersson, Head of Negotiations at SULF, will discuss migration regulations affecting researchers and doctoral students.
  • Frida Smedberg, Career Advisor at Naturvetarna, will explore how to identify and communicate the valuable skills you have developed through your research.
  • Catrine Folcker, Ombudsperson at SULF, will talk about the work environment for researchers.
  • Pantea Asaria, Head of Public Sector Negotiations at Naturvetarna, will provide insights into doctoral student rights, employment conditions, and workplace issues.

You will also learn more about the role of trade unions in Sweden and how Naturvetarna and SULF can support you throughout your studies and future career. The webinar will conclude with a panel discussion, giving you the opportunity to ask questions directly to our experts.

The webinar will take place from 10:15 to 15:00. A more detailed programme will be shared soon. This half-day webinar is open to all PhD students and researchers in Sweden. Registration is required.
