Meeting with the Ministry of Justice regarding the Migration Act

SULF has now had a meeting with officials at the Ministry of Justice. Once again, we highlighted the negative effects of the Migration Act for doctoral candidates and researchers from overseas and described what we believe needs to be done. The Ministry of Justice was keen to hear what we had to say and is interested in SULF’s future input if new issues arise in the future. The government aims to carry out a review of the relevant provisions in order to resolve the current problems. SULF believes that such a review needs to be started urgently and we would be happy to share our knowledge of the real-life situation for people at our universities and colleges.
